#MSWL

Jamie is exclusively looking for middle grade and young adult novels across all genres, and she is particularly interested in working with authors from marginalized communities (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, religious minorities, disabled and neurodivergent creators, etc.).

The below wish list is just an example of the things Jamie likes, and it’s not meant to be an exhaustive list. She’s happy to review your story as long as it’s MG or YA, even if it doesn’t slot into one of the bullet points.

  •  Silly, quirky, clever protagonists (no gross humor, though)

Young
Adult

  • Gothic, spooky, atmospheric settings. Think dark academia vibes.

  • Witches, vampires, werewolves, and monsters

  • Non-western folklore and mythology

  • The Gemma Doyle Trilogy was my favorite series as a teen, so anything that can be comped to that

  • Boarding schools

  • Cozy fantasy

  • Fantasy that feels like a D&D campaign

  • Stories that incorporate video games somehow

  • Nerdy things in general
